Triple Major Outstanding Graduate Looks to Serve Others
Helping others and seeing the impact of work inspired this year’s Gerald Bazer Award winner to choose Owens Community College. Caitlin Jones is graduating with a triple major: Occupational Therapy Assistant, Associate of Science in Biology and an Associate of Arts in Geography. The Medina native worked at a home for individuals with disabilities. While there, one of her residents had a stroke and she watched his recovery process, which inspired Jones to enroll in Occupational Therapy at Owens. In her time at Owens, Jones was involved in several organizations, including the honors program, service scholars, Pride Club and Student Occupational Therapy Association.
“I am thankful for Owens for providing me with a strong foundation that will help set me apart from my peers as I continue on my academic journey.” After graduation, Jones will seek her bachelor’s degree in health sciences through an online program at the University of Cincinnati.
