Selective Admissions Criteria

Admission to the Dietetic Technician Program is selective and requires submission of a complete application file that includes:

  • application to the College
  • high school transcripts or GED record
  • college transcripts
  • ACT or SAT scores
  • evidence of high school algebra with a "C" grade or better.

Additional math, biology and chemistry coursework is recommended. To be evaluated for admission into the Program, you must have a complete file in the Records Office prior to the application admission deadline. Evaluation does not mean automatic admission to the Dietetic Technician Program. The Program accepts 24 students once each year for Fall Semester. Students cannot begin specific dietetic coursework until they are accepted in the program. Following acceptance into the Program, students must meet health and background checks prior to beginning clinical laboratory experiences.

Applicants who have not met the academic admissions requirements for entrance into the Program may take developmental and arts & sciences courses as specified by the Program. Upon successful completion of these courses, the student may reapply for entrance into the Dietetic Technician Program. A pre-dietetics student may take any of the required general education courses prior to acceptance into the Program.
