What is the current job outlook for careers in Hospitality Management?

According to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, 2018 Employment Projections, growth in the Leisure and Hospitality industry is expected to grow by 4.3%.  Approval of four casinos in 2009 will add additional jobs, not forecasted in this growth projection, in gaming, hotel management, event planning and food service related jobs.

How long is the Hospitality Management Program?

The program is a two-year program that includes didactic and co-operative work experience. Courses include general education, business, culinary and technical skills in segments of the hospitality industry.

Do the Hospitality Management courses at Owens transfer to a four-year institution?

Each institution varies in specific course transfer.  Hospitality Management courses at Owens follows the Ohio Transfer Module for general education courses. An articulation agreement is in place to ensure a seamless transition from Owens into University of Findlay’s Hospitality Management program.  Students are encouraged to meet with the Chair of Food, Nutrition and Hospitality at the beginning of the first semester for curriculum advising and program entrance requirements.

Are there scholarships or financial aid available?

What is the cost of obtaining my degree?           

Projected cost including current tuition and general fees, is available through the Bursar’s Office.
