School of Business, Hospitality Management and Public Safety

These scholarships are specific to degrees within the School of Business, Hospitality Management and Public Safety.

Although procedures and deadlines vary, many scholarship applications require the student to write an essay. Tips for writing a scholarship essay are available from the Writing Center.

Some scholarships through professional organizations may require a membership to apply.

Department of Food, Nutrition and Hospitality Scholarships

DM&A CDM, CFPP Credential Grant

The Nutrition & Foodservice Education Foundation (NFEF) is offering a grant opportunity to healthcare or senior care food service employees who have two years or more of leadership experience and are accepted into (or are currently enrolled in) an ANFP-Approved Training Program with the DM&A CDM, CFPP Credential Grant.

The grant recipient will receive awarded funds up to $1,776 in the form of a credit in the recipient’s online account at ANFP – Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals, which will include:

The Northwest Ohio Restaurant Association Scholarship

The Northwest Ohio Restaurant Association Scholarship is available for part-time or full-time students pursuing a certificate or degree in culinary, hospitality or related field at an accredited post-secondary institution with preference to schools located in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. This scholarship is renewable for three additional years after the initial award (four years total), provided the student meets the renewal conditions.

In addition to these scholarships, there are a variety of local opportunities that offer tuition reimbursement based on academic achievement. Other financial aid programs, scholarships and on-campus employment opportunities are available at Owens Community College.
