The OH! FAME program blends classroom instruction with onsite work experience at a sponsoring company’s manufacturing facility.
It is a selective admissions program where students are chosen to participate by a sponsoring company based on the student’s academic success, math capabilities, and interpersonal skills during the interview process.
The sponsoring company pays for at least 50% of the student’s tuition and fees at Owens, and employs the student for a minimum of 24 hours per week at a minimum wage of $15 an hour.
Listen to Tricia Valasek, Manager, Raise the Bar Hancock County, talk about the benefits of the FAME program.
Graduates have the potential to earn as much as $65,000 with excellent benefits.
Graduates will gain a foundation and working knowledge of robotics, fluid/power, pneumatics, machining, and electrical skills. This mix of multi-skilled education and on-the-job training hours provides a strong pathway of opportunity upon graduation.
