Benefits of Penta Express

  • Direct admission to Owens Community College. Penta Career Center students will be admitted to Owens Community College upon meeting academic and application criteria. This will simplify the college admissions process and provide students with a clear path to continue their education without the stress of additional applications. Admission to Owens does not guarantee acceptance into a specific program.
  • Penta Express Scholarship. Up to $1,000 to qualifying students. The scholarship will be distributed as $500 per semester for two semesters, which will be provided in addition to other scholarships Owens may currently offer. This financial support will help ease the transition from high school to college.
  • Priority Registration. Participating students will have access to priority registration at Owens, allowing them to select courses before the general student population. This will help students secure their preferred schedules and ensure a smooth transition into college life.
  • On-Site Career Services. Owens will provide career services directly at Penta Career Center, offering students access to resume writing assistance, mock interviews and career counseling. These services will support students in preparing for their future careers and give them a competitive edge when applying for jobs or internships.
  • On-Site College Credit Plus Application and Registration Days. Owens will continue to offer College Credit Plus (CCP) application and registration days at Penta Career Center. This will help students access dual enrollment opportunities, earning college credits while still in high school and preparing them for the demands of higher education.
  • On-Site Registration Days for High School Seniors. Owens will host on-site registration days for seniors who plan to attend Owens Community College after graduation. This will simplify the process of course registration and ensure that students are ready for college when they graduate from high school.
  • Tuition Discount for Instructors and Their Dependents. An instructor who teaches Owens courses for Penta Career Center will be eligible for an instructional tuition discount of 50 percent at Owens, which will also be extended to their dependents, in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3358:11-5-35 Tuition Waiver procedures.
  • Specialized Career Expo and College Readiness Day. A specialized Career Expo and College Readiness Day will be offered for Penta seniors. This event will focus on career-specific pathways, financial literacy, financial aid and general college preparation. The event will help students make informed decisions about their futures and provide them with the tools they need to succeed academically and professionally.
