ECE 109 - Play, Learning & Environment
Learning and Environment. This course focuses on the influence and value that play and the environment have on the optimal development and learning of young children. Students will learn how to use developmental knowledge to create healthy, respectful, supportive and challenging learning environments. Students will plan, design and implement activities which connect to the Ohio Department of Education Early Learning Content Standards, while demonstrating an understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching/learning approaches. Students will discuss the value of positive relationships and supportive interactions as the foundation of their work with young children as they extend their repertoire of effective teaching strategies and tools to be used in the early education classroom.
Co-requisite: NONE
Prerequisite: ENG 111, ECE 101 or EDU 101, ECE 100 or EDU 100
