ENG 097 - Academic Literacy
Academic Literacy provides highly motivated students integrated instruction in reading, writing, and critical thinking as it prepares them for college-level coursework. Students engage with scholarly texts from a variety of genres with emphasis on independent reading followed by critical responses. Students will create focused, well-developed essays using the conventions of academic prose. Successful completion of this course will allow students to enroll in ENG 111 or other courses which list ENG 091 and/or ENG 096 as a prerequisite. This course serves as an alternative to both ENG 091 and ENG 096.
