Do I need to be a Radiographer to take the clinical Computed Tomography (CT) courses?
Second year Radiography students can complete competencies during their Radiography rotations. All MIT 255 students, the clinical course, must be Radiographers, Radiation Therapists, or Nuclear Medicine technologists.
Do I need to attend any Computed Tomography (CT) classes on the Owens Community College campus?
No. All classes are online.
How can I earn the competencies required by the ARRT to take the Computed Tomography (CT) registry examination?
Students can take the MIT 255 course to earn the competencies. Students can also earn their competencies at their place of employment.
Can I become Computed Tomography (CT) registered if I just pass the online courses?
No. The ARRT requires competencies to be earned along with the educational courses to take the CT registry examination. Once these are completed, students must pass the ARRT Computed Tomography examination to be CT registered.
Do I need to take the MIT 255 clinical course to earn the Computed Tomography (CT) certificate?
No. Only the 4 online courses are required with a "C" or better to earn the certificate.
Do I need to be a Radiographer to take the Computed Tomography (CT) courses?
All CT students must be Radiographers, Radiation Therapists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, or 2nd year Owens Community College Radiography students to take the courses.
Do the online Computed Tomography (CT) courses qualify for the ARRT educational requirements?
Yes. The program director maintains the approval of the CT courses offered at Owens Community College with the ARRT.
