The Owens Community College Department of Fine and Performing Arts welcomes Ellen Loeffler-Kalinoski as the 2023 Artist in Residence.
Windows to the World: Photographs by Ellen Loeffler-Kalinoski
Ellen Loeffler-Kalinoski’s love of art and design was fostered by her parents and the Saturday morning program at the Toledo Museum of Art. Her passion for photography also began early, and in high school she became inseparable from her camera. After college and studying abroad, she returned to the Toledo area, raising three daughters with her husband, and launching her studio, Windows to the World. She also worked as an art director and photographer for advertising agencies and a local hospital, and currently spends her time photographing through her studio and teaching photography at St. Ursula Academy. This exhibit will take you on a visual journey through several destinations inspired by architecture, light and shadow. Want to see more of Ellen’s work? Go to windowstotheworldphoto.com.
Opening Reception
Thursday, June 8 | 5-7 p.m. | Walter E. Terhune Art Gallery | Toledo-area Campus
The images evoke emotion and nostalgia – often soft and dreamlike – transporting the viewer to another place and time. Perhaps as a counterbalance to our chaotic world, these calming images provide a moment of peace. Certain prints are framed in antique, weathered window frames to enhance the rustic, natural mood of the image. This summer the exhibit at the Walter E. Terhune Gallery will take you on a visual journey through several destinations/locales I find most inspiring.
