High School Honors Band Day

The Owens Community College Fine and Performing Arts Department will be hosting its fifth annual High School Honors Band Day on Monday, May 9, 2016 in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on the Toledo-area Campus.

Students are selected through the nomination of their band director to participate in this Honors Band program. Students will have the opportunity to work with local professionals throughout the day and perform a concert under the direction of a prominent music educator from the region.


  • 8-8:30 a.m. Registration
  • 8:30-9:15 a.m. Seating tryouts
  • 9:30-11 a.m. Full band reading session
  • 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Sectional rehearsals
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. Lunch
  • 1:30-3 p.m. Full band rehearsal
  • 3-3:30 Break
  • 3:30-5 p.m. Full band rehearsal
  • 5-7 p.m. Dinner, rest and change into band uniforms
  • 7 p.m. Concert
