Department of Fine and Performing Arts Internships
The Fine and Performing Arts Department (FPA) is devoted to making sure that all students succeed, both in and out of the classroom. Internships with area employers have proven to provide students with lifelong learning experiences that are directly applicable to the student's educational goals. The goal of our internships is to provide qualified students with the opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom, while gaining experience and knowledge in the working world.
FPA Internships are temporary, semester-long positions without pay. Students participating in the internships earn 3 college credits toward their degree. Students usually participate in an internship after they have completed 3 semesters of course work, including their Portfolio class.
The intent of the FPA Department Internship is to offer participating employers highly productive interns who are career motivated towards a specific profession and assists students in acquiring on-the-job experience while they are attending college.
The Owens Community College FPA Department is pleased to offer this beneficial opportunity for both students and our community partners.
