Important Information regarding COVID-19 and travel

College-sponsored travel/events – applies to all students, faculty, and staff:

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Owens Community College has suspended all college-sponsored, non-essential travel both in and out of state.  Essential college travel (i.e. travel that is still permissible) includes only those items related to class and daily college operations (this includes commuting to work, travel between campuses, travel to off-site educational locations, etc.).  This non-essential travel ban is effective immediately and until further notice.

Personal travel – applies to all students, faculty and staff:

If you are returning from a Level 3 travel warning country, or you were on a cruise, you are required to observe a 14-day period of self-quarantine and monitoring.  During this period, you are not permitted to be present on any Owens campus.

If you have remained symptom free through the end of the self-quarantine period, you may return to campus.

Please visit the following Centers for Disease Control website for further information related to travel.  The CDC regularly updates that site, including updates as to countries named to the  Level 3 warning list: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/

If any of these situations apply to you, or if you have any questions, please contact Human Resources.

Personal Travel Registration

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Owens Community College has suspended all College-sponsored, non-essential travel both in and out of state. The College is also requiring all individuals returning from a country on the CDC’s Level 3 warning list to self-isolate for 14-days and during that period they will not be permitted to be present on any Owens campus.

Individuals should register their recent travel using the College’s online travel registry form.
