Co-op / Internship and Field Experience Programs

The Cooperative Education (Co-op)/Internship and Field Experience Programs at Owens Community College are a partnership between the college, employers and students that formally integrates academic work with experience in the business world.

Several of our degree programs require a co-op or internship as part of the graduation requirements; others offer it as an option. Students are highly encouraged to take advantage of valuable co-op/internship opportunities during their time with us. Studies indicate that students who complete an internship while in school show increased academic performance (higher GPA, fewer failed courses, a 20% greater graduation rate) and have a significantly higher rate of employment success following graduation*

We hope you choose to pursue this avenue of experiential learning and take advantage of the many benefits it provides.
