  • Jumpstart is a comprehensive summer program, where students are introduced to college life and educational and employment resources.
  • Jumpstart students are supported by faculty, staff and student mentors to assist them through their introduction and first year at Owens.
  • Jumpstart students participate in academic workshops designed to promote enhanced learning and develop necessary study, life and employment skills for college success.
  • Jumpstart students are employed as student workers for 10-15 hours per week, earning a paycheck while they enhance academic understanding.
  • Jumpstart students are paired with Owens Civic Ambassadors to mentor and support them through the transition to college, while also helping them build an active citizen identity.
  • Jumpstart students will have the opportunity to participate in community service, team building and leadership activities.
