Information about ExpressLINK
Welcome to ExpressLINK, the Owens Community College Library Information NetworK. ExpressLINK provides a web accessible description and location of books, periodical titles, audiovisuals, and other items which the library owns on both the Toledo and Findlay campus.
ExpressLINK is part of OhioLINK, a statewide library and information network which contains over 8 million library holdings.
Online Library services are available in the following areas:
Online Catalog. Use this to access information on library holdings of books, audiovisuals, and periodical titles. You can search holdings by Author, Title, Subject, Keyword, Performers, or Series
Online Circulation System. A valid Owens Identification card with a barcode number is required in order to check out items from the library or to use reserve materials. You may review your check-out record or renew items online. Items can be renewed only once.
OhioLINK Central Catalog. This link allows you to locate items in all OhioLINK member libraries. If you prefer, you can connect to OhioLINK Member Institutions to search individual library catalogs.
OhioLINK Online Borrowing. OhioLINK member libraries allow students, faculty and staff to borrow materials online. In order to use this system, you must first determine if the book is available in the Owens Library. If the item you need is not available (not owned, missing, checked-out, etc.), click and your search will be transferred to the Central Catalog and the display will show how many LIBRARIES OWN THIS ITEM and if you can REQUEST THIS ITEM. Please allow four to seven days for the item to be delivered to the Owens Library. You will be notified when the item arrives or you can check the shipping status by clicking on renew items under ExpressLINK.
Research Databases . More than 90 general and subject specific databases are available to Owens faculty, staff, and students, if you are currently registered with the library and have no overdue books or fines. These databases are used to find journal articles by searching for Authors, Titles, Subjects, Keywords or natural language. Databases are accessible off-campus through OhioLINK. Many databases contain links to online copies of journal articles (full-text) that are available for printing.
The Electronic Journal Center (EJC) is OhioLINK's collection of full-text research journals. OhioLINK researchers can search the EJC by subject or register to be notified by e-mail when new articles are published in a particular subject, by author, or by favorite journal title. The EJC is linked to the research databases.
The Digital Media Center is a collection of multimedia databases providing images, sounds, video, data, and other types of media information.
