"We were very pleased with this turnout," said Bill Ivoska, Director of Admissions at Owens. "Owens Community College is always proud to host an event like this that offers a convenient way for high school students to obtain that essential information they need in their search process for colleges."
Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities from Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania were on hand to talk with high school juniors and seniors and their parents.
The high school students also attended sessions on financial aid, preparing for the ACT, planning for college and college planning for multicultural students. Military branches also were available to discuss ROTC and other scholarship programs. Officials from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) attended to answer athletic eligibility questions.
