Brian Paskvan, Financial Aid Manager at Owens Community College, has been elected President of the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA).
He will serve as President Elect until June 1998 and then will become President of OASFAA, which has nearly 700 members in Ohio including financial aid professionals and student loan representatives from the banking community.
As President of OASFAA, Paskvan will represent the state of Ohio on many issues regarding financial aid at the state, regional and national levels. He will have the opportunity to meet with congressional representatives to voice concerns regarding the financial aid process.
"I am very honored to be elected to this position by my colleagues and I am eager to work as an advocate of financial aid in higher education and to act on behalf of college students," Paskvan said.
Paskvan has been a member of OASFAA for five years. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in education from the University of Toledo. He previously has worked in the financial aid offices at UT and Bowling Green State University.
Paskvan is a Vermilion native. He and his wife, Becky, now live in Bowling Green and have two children, Todd and Abby.
