Owens Students Awarded Agribusiness Scholarships

  Eleven local Owens Community College students have been awarded Agribusiness scholarships for 1997-98.

  • Kyle Ruetz of Ottawa Lake, MI, received a $500 scholarship from Luckey Farmers Inc.

  • Scott Thomas of Swanton, OH, received a $500 scholarship from Countrymark Co-op.

  • Rozlyn Koenigseker of Lambertville, MI, received a $500 scholarship from the Grain Elevator and Processing Society.

  • Anna Flathman of Bascom, OH, received a $500 scholarship from the Grain Elevator and Processing Society.

  • Brian Butzin of Curtice, OH, received a $500 scholarship from the Ohio Agribusiness Association Educational Trust.

  • Jennifer Stasa of Swanton, OH, received a $750 scholarship from the Ohio Agribusiness Association Educational Trust.

  • Sarah Bertok of Graytown, OH, received a $500 Greenleaf Award scholarship.

  • Scot Lamb of Paulding, OH, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Ohio Agribusiness Association Education Trust.

  • Jeffrey Mason, of Waterville, OH, received a $500 scholarship from the Grain Elevator and Processing Society.

  • Brice Carroll of Wauseon, OH, received a $500 Howard Robison scholarship.

  • Simon Gundy of Weston, OH, received a $500 scholarship from The Andersons.

  Students were selected by personal interviews with representatives from the donor organizations. The Andersons' Foundation, Ohio Agribusiness Association, Countrymark Co-op, Luckey Farmers Inc., and the Seaway Chapter of the Grain Elevator and Processing Society contributed to the Agribusiness Scholarship program this year.

  Scholarship applicants must major in Agribusiness Management Technology at Owens Community College, must have taken at least one Agribusiness course at Owens and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
