Former Owens Express Players Sign with Four-Year Schools

   Owens Community College is proud to announce that five student-athletes from the 1997-98 men's basketball team will continue their basketball careers at four-year colleges and universities.

   Kedran Barnhill, a DeVilbiss High School graduate and forward for the Owens Express, and Brian Ponder, a Cooley High School (Detroit, Michigan) graduate and Owens Express guard, both have signed with Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis.

   Rashard Carson, a Rogers High School graduate and guard for the Owens Express, has signed with Tennessee State University.

   Craig Erquhart, a Lathrup High School (Southfield, Michigan) graduate and guard/forward for the Owens Express, has signed with Eastern Michigan University.

   Shaun Fountain, a Beechcroft High School (Columbus, Ohio) graduate and guard for the Owens Express, has signed with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

   The Owens Express finished this season with a 26-6 overall record and were ranked No. 2 in the nation for the NJCAA's Division II.
