Owens Students Receive Scholarships from National Association of Women in Construction

   Four Owens Community College students are the recipients of scholarships from the National Association of Women in Construction.

   This year, the local chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction awarded 12 scholarships totaling $8,000 and has awarded more than $78,000 in scholarships since 1987.

   The four area Owens students who received these scholarships are:

   Lori LaPoint, of Toledo, a 1996 Bowsher High School graduate. She is an Architectural/Construction Major at Owens and an honors student.

   Jason Sherman, of Findlay, a 1994 Van Buren High School graduate. He is an Architectural/Construction Major at Owens and an honors student.

   Jennifer Pohlman, of Whitehouse, a Bedford High School graduate. She is an Architectural/Construction Major at Owens has a 4.0 grade point average.

   Maureen Fagans, of Maumee, is an Architectural/Construction Major and has a 4.0 grade point average.
