Owens Express Basketball Still on Top of National Poll

The Owens Community College men's basketball team again has been ranked No. 1 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll released today.

Two-time national champions, the Express currently has an overall record of 13-1 and a conference record of 1-0. This season, they won the Owens Tip-Off Classic, the Alpena Community College Holiday Tournament and the Owens Express Tournament.

Led by Head Coach Jim Welling, the Express was undefeated at home last year (13-0) and has yet to lose at home this season (7-0).

"This very flattering," Welling said. "We've been working hard this season and with a lot of conference games facing us, I hope we can continue this success."
