More than 400 area community and business leaders recently attended the
annual "Community Appreciation Breakfast" hosted by Daniel H. Brown,
President of Owens Community College on the Toledo-area Campus. For the
first time, President Brown hosted a breakfast in Findlay, as well.
These events recognize the commitment of hundreds of local people serving on the advisory boards for academic programs at the College, as well as local and state legislators and educators.
"These people are to be congratulated for their commitment to the education of our students," President Brown said. "Their efforts ensure our curricula are focused on the future - that Owens students can take their classroom learning right out into the workplace to make a valuable contribution to our community."
The advisory board members assist faculty, staff and administration at the College in evaluating the academic programs, planning for facilities and equipment, and meeting needs of area business and industry with high-tech instruction for Owens students.
President Brown presented a video annual report highlighting the accomplishments of the College during the last year.
"As the fastest-growing college in Ohio, we appreciate the support of the community as we continue to offer new high quality programs and services to more and more people in Northwest Ohio and across the state," President Brown said.
