TRW Inc. Donates $5,000 for Owens Community College Student Scholarships

Owens Community College students will benefit from $5,000 in new scholarships thanks to a donation from TRW Inc.

David P. Anderson, Plant Manager of the TRW Chassis Systems Toledo Plant, recently presented the contribution to Owens President Daniel H. Brown.

"TRW is pleased to present this check to Owens Community College for their scholarship fund," Anderson said. "TRW is committed to supporting educational initiatives in our community."

The donation will fund five $1,000 scholarships for outstanding students who demonstrate financial need.

TRW is located at North Cross Industrial Park, 5915 Jason Street, Toledo, and provides chassis systems modules to Daimler Chrysler Jeep Toledo Assembly Operations.

"TRW provides advanced technology products and services to the worldwide automotive, aerospace and information technology markets. The company's 1999 sales were $17 billion."

President Brown said Owens Community College is proud to work hand-in-hand with many area businesses and industries to provide well-qualified, highly-trained employees for the local workforce.

"We believe all students deserve a hands-on, practical education that prepares them to go right into the workplace," he explained. "With 65 percent of our students receiving financial aid, corporate donations like this from TRW can make a difference for many students."
