Your Success Starts Here

Owens Community College will host "Lincoln Motorsports Welding Night" Tuesday, April 10 where area residents can meet race car drivers and check out competition race cars, including Harry Gant's Skoal Bandit Winston Cup race car.

The event will be 6-9 p.m. at the Transportation Technologies Center, Oregon Road. It is free and open to the public.

At 7:30 p.m., there will be a presentation by Dennis Klingman of Lincoln Electric Co., director of the Technical Training, Welding and Cutting Technology Center, who supervises the weld shop at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May.

Among the vehicles to be featured is the Indy Northern Lights race car, owned by Ron Hemelgarn, the 1996 Indy winner and 2000 national champion. Also on display will be a NASCAR Craftsman Truck, 3-engine modified tractor, 4-wheel-drive pickup pulling truck, an alcohol-burning dragster and more.

The event is co-sponsored by the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the American Welding Society.
