Owens Community College has been honored with six regional awards for marketing and public relations projects by the National Council on Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
The Office of Public Relations and Marketing received a Gold Medallion Award for the "Registration Rocks!" recruitment marketing program implemented with the Owens Admissions Office last spring to register high school seniors at Owens before they graduate.
Silver Medallion Awards were presented in Outdoor Advertising for the College's summer billboard and in Print Advertisement for the newspaper ad featuring Mel Stachura, Owens honor student and baseball player.
Bronze Medallion Awards were presented in the categories of: Poster, for the "Registration Rocks!" poster sent to high schools; Video Advertisement, for the television commercial featuring Owens student success story Rodney Franks; and Print Advertisement, for the "Big Game, Big House, Big Crowd?" newspaper ads for the basketball games in the new Student Health and Activities Center.
The Medallion Awards were presented with the awards at the recent NCMPR District III conference in Lansing, Michigan. The Medallion Awards annually recognize excellence in marketing, public relations and advertising from two-year colleges in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ontario, Canada.
The Office of Public Relations and Marketing includes Director Beth Church, Marketing Specialist Andy Woodard, Public Relations Specialist Brad Meyer, Graphic Artist Wendy Warrington, Graphic Artist Janice Eastwood and Secretary/Receptionist Mary Burchette.
