Basic Computer Courses Offered at Owens Community College

Want to learn the basics of how to operate a computer as a first-time user? Sign up today for a free, three-week Computer Basic Skills: "Get to Know Your Computer" course at Owens Community College.

Offered free of charge, the class is taught at the Owens Community College Center for Development and Training (CDT), 2249 Tracy Road, Northwood.

Experienced teachers will provide a friendly, adult classroom atmosphere with personal attention. The two three-week courses, which are offered at different times, will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, February 11-27. The afternoon class is 1-3:30 p.m. The evening class meets from 6-8:30 p.m.

This course introduces how to operate a mouse, keyboard strokes, giving orders to the computer, basic file management, creating a document and using different software. The computer class is hands-on with one computer per student.
