Armed with sincerity, intellect and rare comedic ability, Preacher Moss will continue the "End of Racism" Comedy and Lecture Tour at Owens Community College at 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 12.
Moss will share his insights on "racial understanding vs. racial interaction" at the Owens Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC), located on the Toledo-area Campus, Oregon Road, just four miles from downtown Toledo.
His appearance is another in a continuing series of events at Owens celebrating Black History Month in February.
"The 'End of Racism' is not just the name of the tour, but a commitment that we all share," Preacher Moss said. "No matter how unflattering or funny it is, we must investigate to find truth in the world. I believe that we are all one family, but ignorance and indifference make it seem like some of us were adopted.
"Understanding diversity and multiculturalism requires that we eliminate or reduce the anxiety of our ignorance, and how to speak honestly when we can't," he said.
As a writer for Damon Wayans and Saturday Night Live, his comedy stylings are distinguished for being sculptured out of the everyday relevance of life, and the rare glimpses of truth we value as reality.
"Delivering some of the the most important things you'll ever hear about diversity, he gives you the uncut truth, and boy is it funny the way he does it. He's absolutely unforgettable," said Wayans, the noted actor and writer.
A writer, community activist, comedian and filmmaker, Preacher Moss is clearly one of the top lecturers on the circuit as he discusses the diversity aspects of multiculturalism and humanizes them so that we all come to understand the commitment and value of having a multicultural democracy.
"He is an undercover agent for social change. Preacher Moss's lecture should be recognized as the lecture most likely to spark random acts of intelligence and good vibes," said Jamaal Edwards, coordinator of Coalition for Change Summit.
