Owens Community College Findlay Campus Sponsors Hancock County College Night

FINDLAY - More than 100 colleges and universities from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania will gather Monday, March 11 at Findlay High School for Hancock County College Night.

High school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to come and talk with college representatives from 6:30-8 p.m. Admission is free.

College representatives also will offer presentations from 6-7:30 p.m. on financial aid, planning for college, preparing for the ACT and college planning for students with disabilities and special needs.

"College Preview Night is a great opportunity for high school students and their parents to visit with admissions representatives and to learn about the variety of educational opportunities available after high school," said Dr. Bill Ivoska, Owens Director of Admissions. "Owens Community College is excited to host an event where students can take the first step toward choosing a career by meeting with four-year colleges or universities and community colleges from the surrounding Midwest region all in one evening."

In addition to the public and private colleges and universities present, several Hancock County area banks will be available to provide information on student loans. Military branches will be on hand to discuss admission to military academies, ROTC and other scholarship programs.

Hancock County College Night is sponsored by Owens Community College and the counseling staffs of eight local high schools. High school counselors will be available to meet with students and parents in informal question and answer sessions.
