Owens Hosts Largest College Preview Night In Northwest Ohio

More than 100 colleges and universities from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania will gather at the Toledo-area Campus of Owens Community College Wednesday, March 13 for the largest College Preview Night in Northwest Ohio.

High school juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to come and talk with college representatives from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Student Health and Activities Center. Admission is free.

College representatives also will offer presentations on financial aid, planning for college, preparing for the ACT and college planning for students with disabilities and special needs in the Audio/Visual Classroom Center.

"College Preview Night is a great opportunity for high school students and their parents to visit with admissions representatives and to learn about the variety of educational opportunities available after high school," said Dr. Bill Ivoska, Owens Director of Admissions. "Owens Community College is excited to host an event where students can take the first step toward choosing a career by meeting with four-year colleges or universities and community colleges from the surrounding Midwest region all in one evening."

In addition to the public and private colleges and universities present, several area banks will be available to provide information on student loans. Military branches will be on hand to discuss admission to military academies, ROTC and other scholarship programs.

Hosted by Owens Community College, College Preview Night is sponsored by the counseling staffs of 18 local high schools in Wood and Lucas counties. High school counselors will be available to meet with students and parents in informal question and answer sessions.
