One of the most sought after hypnotists in the United States, Frederick Winters will bring his hypnotic antics to Northwest Ohio performing at Owens Community College on Thursday, April 18.
Beginning at 12 p.m., Winters will guide his willing volunteers on a hilarious mental journey while captivating the crowd in the process. Free and open to the public, the event will be held at the Owens Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) on the Toledo-area Campus, which is on Oregon Road located four miles from downtown Toledo.
Winters has entertained for more than 500,000 people and performs nearly 2,000 shows per year. In 2001, he was selected by the National Association for Campus Activities as the "Overall Entertainer of the Year" among college and university entertainers.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Winters has more than 20 years of experience in the field of hypnosis and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist. He also is a member of the International Association of Counselors and Therapists and travels more than 150,000 miles each year entertaining colleges, universities, high schools and major corporations.
"From the moment I step on stage, each person in the audience will detect that there's no place I'd rather be than performing to a college crowd with my hypnotic antics," said Winters, who learned about his future profession while a student at Northwestern University.
"I met a great hypnotist while in college named George Vaughn Lowther and became his 'sidekick' as he performed shows and workshops in Chicago," he said. "He taught me about hypnosis, as well as how to perform it. I then started performing for small parties in the Chicago area and later at resorts and on cruise ships."
"Frederick Winters is the most entertaining show of every cruise," said Royal Caribbean Cruise Line officials.
