FINDLAY - Are you considering enhancing your basic skills in English or math, or improving your employment skills? Sign up today for a free GED orientation at the Owens Community College Workforce and Community Services Division, 1200 Commerce Parkway, Findlay.
Experienced teachers will provide a friendly, adult classroom atmosphere with small classes and personal attention. The four three-hour orientations will be Tuesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 6 from 6-9 p.m. Orientations also will be Monday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 5 at two different times. The morning session is 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. The evening session is 6-9 p.m.
All students must attend two three-hour orientation meetings to register for classes. The GED classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, June 10 August 7. The morning session is 9-11:30 a.m. The evening session is 6-8:30 p.m. Classes also will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 11 August 8 from 6-8:30 p.m.
Students who pass the GED practice test offered by Owens will receive a voucher to take the GED test for free, saving $55. The GED practice test is Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday, June 11 and 13 from 5-9 p.m.
The GED program is funded by the Ohio Department of Education through the Adult Basic and Literacy Education Programs.
