Owens 2002 Trustees' Academic Excellence Scholarship Winners Announced

The Owens Community College Board of Trustees again has made available thousands of dollars in new scholarships for area high school graduates through the Trustees' Academic Excellence Scholarship program.

"We are very proud of all these incoming students as they have demonstrated a strong dedication to the highest academic, leadership and community service standards within their high schools and communities," said Gary Dettling, Owens Vice President of College Advancement. "We look forward to this outstanding group of students joining us at Owens this fall."

The Owens Community College Board of Trustees created the Trustees' Academic Excellence Scholarship program in 1998 to recognize the outstanding achievements of graduating high school seniors. Each recipient will receive a $2,000 two-year scholarship.

The scholarship is available for four consecutive semesters with applicants being enrolled full-time and pursuing an associate degree at the College, as well as maintaining a 3.0 grade point average each semester.

Students receiving an Owens Trustees' Academic Excellence Scholarship and their intended course of study at Owens include:
