Owens Community College Hosts Substitute Educational Recruitment Job Fair, October 3

The Lucas County Educational Service Center will offer a SchoolWork consortium recruitment job fair for anyone interested in a substitute position in education on Thursday, October 3 at Owens Community College.

Sponsored by Owens Community College and Renhill Staffing Services, the job fair runs from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. in the College's Audio/Visual Classroom Center on the Toledo-area Campus. Owens is located on Oregon Road, which is four miles from Downtown Toledo.

"The collaboration between Owens Community College and the Lucas County Educational Service Center has proven to be a very beneficial initiative," said Betty Valentine, Owens Director of Employee Relations and Diversity. "This is the second year the educational recruitment job fair has been held at the College. We look forward to continue partnering with the Lucas County Educational Service Center, as well as provide educational services and opportunities to the various organizations throughout Northwest Ohio."

Throughout the day, applications will be taken for various substitute positions, which include K-12 classroom teachers, bus drivers, custodians, food service, secretaries and classroom and playground assistants.

Among the school districts in attendance will include Oregon, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania and Washington, as well as the Penta Career Center.

Personnel from each of the participating school districts will be on hand to answer questions and take applications. Interested applicants are encouraged to sign up for positions with any desired district.

In addition, Owens Community College and Renhill Staffing Services will have booths available for those individuals interested in pursuing a college education or employment opportunities.
