Owens 'Three-Peats' As All-Sports Conference Champions

Your Success Starts Here Owens Community College has once again captured the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference's All-Sports Title winning the award for the third consecutive year. Lakeland Community College and Columbus State Community College finished in second and third place, respectively.

This marks the fourth time in six years Owens has received the conference crown. The College also was All-Sports Conference champions in 1994-1995, 1998-1999 and 1999-2000.

During the 2000-2001 academic year Owens Express teams were Men's Basketball Champions,Volleyball Champions, Baseball Co-Champs, Softball Co-Champs, Women's Basketball Second place and Men's Soccer Fourth place.

"I'm very proud of all our student-athletes for their work on and off the field and the tremendous quality of the athletic programs that have been established at the College," said Michael Rickard, Owens Express Athletics Director. "Owens has always enjoyed a tradition of nationally-ranked teams, as well as a dedication to supporting men and women as athletes and scholars."

Owens has been a member of the OCCAC for 14 years. The nine other members of the conference are Clark State Community College, Cincinnati State Community College, Columbus State Community College, Cuyahoga Community College, Edison State Community College, Lakeland Community College, Sinclair Community College, Southern State Community College and Terra State Community College.
