Owens Community College Hosts "Registration Rocks!"
Area high school seniors are invited to learn about Owens Community College' s many academic program offerings and educational opportunities during a fun, music-themed event as the College hosts "Registration Rocks!" the weeks of April 14-17 and 21-24.
Seniors, who are required to RSVP prior to the event, can sign up for any day of "Registration Rocks!" which runs from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the College's Audio/Visual Classroom Center on the Toledo-area Campus. Owens is located on Oregon Road, four miles from Downtown Toledo.
"'Registration Rocks!' is a great opportunity for prospective students to receive academic advising, as well as register for summer and fall classes in a convenient manner all in one fun-filled day," said Dr. Bill Ivoska, Owens Interim Vice President of Student Services. "Owens Community College is excited to once again host an event where students can take the first step toward their career aspirations by pursuing a high quality college education."
Throughout each day, students will be able to meet with faculty and staff members, take the college placement test and pick up important information about financial aid, student activities and academic program offerings. A separate program on learning to support your children in college also will be offered to parents who attend "Registration Rocks!".
Seniors will have the opportunity to win various raffle prizes during each day, including CDs and Owens baseball caps, T-shirts, sweatshirts and more. The Grand Prize will be two free passes to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Attendees also will be provided with a free lunch during their visit.
More than 1,000 high school seniors registered for Owens classes at "Registration Rocks!" events in 2001 and 2002.
