Owens Community College Hosts "Battle of the Bands" Concert, Saturday, April 26
A fun evening of entertainment is in store for music lovers as the Owens Community College hosts the second annual "Battle of the Bands" Concert on Saturday, April 26.
Sponsored by the Owens Student Government, the event will run from 7-11 p.m. in the College's Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) on the Owens Toledo-area Campus. Owens is located on Oregon Road, four miles from Downtown Toledo. Admission to the concert is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Six bands will be featured, playing a wide array of music ranging from rock to rhythm n' blues throughout the evening. Each band will play for approximately 20 minutes with a 15-minute break to follow each set.
At the conclusion of the "Battle of the Bands" concert a grand prize in the amount of $400 will be awarded to musical group honored as the Best Band for the evening. In addition to the concert, individuals also will have the opportunity to purchase participating bands' various CDs and other merchandise.
"Battle of the Bands is a great night of entertainment for any individual who enjoys music," said Jolene Poeschl, Owens Student Government President. "Owens Student Government is excited to once again host an event which recognizes local musical talent for their hard work and dedication."
