Owens Community College Honored For Marketing Excellence
Paving the way in marketing higher education to the Northwest Ohio community, Owens Community College's radio commercials and annual report were recently honored by the Toledo Professional Chapter of The Association for Women in Communications at an award-winning level.
Owens' radio commercials and an annual report produced by the Public Relations and Marketing Office, in collaboration with the marketing and communications firm Hart Associates, were chosen to receive two Crystal Awards for marketing excellence. The awards presented to Owens and Hart Associates were within the categories of Collateral Materials and Advertising.
"The College's Public Relations and Marketing Office was charged with the task of creating a marketing concept that reflected the level of quality our faculty and students display each and every day here at Owens," said Jennifer Fehnrich, Owens Director of Public Relations and Marketing. "With support from members of the Owens family, and the creative team at Hart Associates, we were able to do just that. These awards are a reflection of our success in creatively communicating what sets Owens apart - quality and affordability."
Created in 1982, the Crystal Awards were established by the Toledo Professional Chapter of The Association for Women in Communications to meet the need for a regional awards program honoring achievements in the communications profession. The awards were named "Crystal" to symbolize the clarity and craftsmanship of strong communication, and to recognize Toledo's prominence as the "Glass Capital" of the world.
Each year, the awards honor Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan communication professionals for excellence in photography, writing, broadcast news, design, advertising, public relations, audiovisual and interactive media and student media.
Owens' Public Relations and Marketing Office staff members are Jennifer Fehnrich of Perrysburg, Director of Public Relations and Marketing; Andy Woodard of Maumee, Marketing Manager; Michelle Marczak of Holland, Marketing Coordinator; Brad Meyer of Findlay, Public Relations Coordinator; Melissa Kimbler of Perrysburg, Publications Coordinator; Amy Karlovec of Bowling Green, Senior Graphic Designer; Sarah Hemp of Luckey, Graphic Designer, and Karen Koke of Perrysburg, Secretary.
