Owens Community College, 92.5 KISS-FM and Toledo City Paper Provide Free College Education Owens Community College, 92.5 KISS-FM and the "Toledo City Paper" are partnering to offer a unique scholarship contest, which will award free college education to two area residents. The scholarship contest will award a grand-prize winner one year of free tuition to Owens, while the individual who finishes in second-place will receive one semester of free tuition.

"Owens Community College is proud to collaborate with 92.5 KISS-FM and the 'Toledo City Paper' and offer this incredible opportunity for the Northwest Ohio community," said Andy Woodard, Owens Marketing Manager. "This contest is possible due to the College's continued efforts of building upon its community partnerships. Thanks to the support of 92.5 KISS-FM and the 'Toledo City Paper', two students will be able to experience a quality education at Owens Community College."

Individuals can enter the contest by logging onto www.owens.edu, www.925kissfm.com or www.toledocitypaper.com, clicking on "Free Fred-ucation" and answering a series of five questions. "Free Fred-ucation" is named after Fred LeFebvre of 92.5 KISS-FM's Morning Crew. Applicants also can enter by calling 92.5 KISS-FM and Johny D and the Morning Crew at (567) 240-1547, or filling out a registration form in the "Toledo City Paper". All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 2.

"92.5 KISS-FM is excited to partner with Owens Community College and the 'Toledo City Paper' on this free tuition contest," said Bill Michaels, Operations Manager and Program Director for 92.5 KISS-FM. "We look forward to a very successful campaign, affording two students the opportunity to fulfill their educational dreams at Owens."

Applicants answering all five questions correctly will be entered into a drawing in which five finalists will be chosen at random. The finalists will be chosen by 92.5 KISS-FM and Johny D and the Morning Crew during a live drawing on Thursday, August 5. To determine the grand-prize winner, the five randomly selected finalists then will compete in a quiz bowl with portions of the event being broadcast live by 92.5 KISS-FM on Thursday, August 12 from 3-6 p.m. Serving as quiz bowl emcee will be Fred LeFebvre, the Morning Crew producer.

One grand-prize winner will be awarded one year of free tuition to Owens, while the individual finishing in second-place will receive one semester of free tuition. All five finalists will receive a $100 gift certificate to the College's Bookstore. The contest is open to Ohio and Michigan residents 16 years of age or older.

"'Free Fred-ucation' is one unique way that the 'Toledo City Paper' can open the door for students to achieve academic success," said Collette Jacobs, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the "Toledo City Paper". "This year's scholarship contest is sure to be exciting and rewarding."
