Owens' Workforce and Community Services Division Offers a Beginning Yoga Class, Sept. 23 - Oct. 28

Area residents will have the opportunity to exercise their body and mind as Owens Community College offers a Beginning Yoga class, September 23 - October 28.

The Beginning Yoga course will occur every Thursday from 6-7 p.m., September 23 - October 28. Classes will be held at the College's Workforce and Community Services Division, located on Tracy Road in Northwood.

"Attendees can experience yoga's rejuvenating movements that combine rhythmic stretching and breathing," said Michelle Marentette-Hermanutz, Owens Instructor of the Beginning Yoga class. "Yoga is one of the fastest growing workouts today and is an excellent exercise for anyone to build flexibility, strength and muscle tone."

Marentette-Hermanutz added, "Whether you're a beginner or have mastered the basics, this class is open to all levels of expertise."

Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat to class and wear loose, comfortable clothing.

The learning-centered approach focuses on developing and enhancing professional skills to meet the needs of the community, customizing training in the areas of computer applications, allied health education, apprenticeship-related training and skilled trades.

The registration fee for the class is only $65. For more information, or to register for the class, call (567) 661-7357 or 1-800-GO-OWENS, Ext. 7357.
