World Cultures Film Series (The Devil's Backbone)
The year is 1939, and the bloody, Spanish Civil War is ending. General Franco's right-wing Nationalists have overcome the left wing, Republican forces. A ten-year-old boy named Carlos (Fernando Tielve), the son of a fallen Republican war hero, is left in an orphanage in the middle of nowhere. The place is isolated, and full of dark basements, sinister corridors, hidden treasures, whispered warnings and superstitious stories. Weapons of Mass Destruction Training
Sponsored by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) and Louisiana State University's National Center for Biomedical Research and Training, this course is designed to provide area law enforcement officials with a general understanding and recognition of terrorism. Topics include the identification of weapons of mass destruction (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives), defensive considerations and control issues associated with such incidents.
