Owens Community College to Host NJCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship, Nov. 11-13

Owens Community College will once again host the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women's Volleyball National Championship, welcoming the top 12 Division II teams from across the country to compete for the national title, November 11-13.

"We are honored to be chosen among community colleges nationwide to host the highest level of intercollegiate volleyball competition," said Michael Rickard, Owens Coordinator of Student Enrichment and Athletics. "This is the seventh year that Owens has served as the venue for the NJCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship. I anticipate another exciting week of volleyball."

The winners from 12 national district tournaments in Division II this weekend will advance to Owens Community College and compete in the national championship.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Owens has hosted the Division II NJCAA National Volleyball Championship. Prior to serving as the Division II National Championship site, Owens hosted the previous three Division III tournaments.

Tournament play begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 11. Pool play continues on Friday, November 12, starting at 10 a.m. Semifinal matches are scheduled to occur at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, followed by the NJCAA National Championship match at 2 p.m.

All matches will be played at the College's Student Health and Activities Center (SHAC) on the Toledo-area Campus. Owens is located on Oregon Road, four miles from downtown Toledo.

Tickets for the NJCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship are $4 for adults and $2 for youth. Children five and under and individuals with a valid college student ID are admitted free.
