Owens Community College Express Baseball Holds Open Tryouts, Aug. 10 and 15

Prospective high schools graduates and area residents interested in playing intercollegiate menís baseball are invited to Open Tryouts at Owens Community College. Tryouts for pitchers and catchers will occur on Wednesday, August 10, while position player tryouts will be held on Monday, August 15.

Each Open Tryout begins at 4 p.m. and will be held at the Collegeís Baseball Complex on the Toledo-area Campus. Owens is located on Oregon Road, four miles from downtown Toledo.

The menís baseball program, led Head Coach Bob Schultz, finished the 2005 campaign with a 31-23 overall record and tied Columbus State Community College for the OCCAC regular season title with a 12-8 mark. Schultzís squad advanced to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region XII Championships before losing to Glen Oaks Community College.
