The Clayton Miller Band to Perform At Owens’ Center for Fine and Performing Arts, Oct. 22

The Clayton Miller Band Tight family bonds and virtuoso musicianship will fire up the stage at Owens Community College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts as The Clayton Miller Band performs on Saturday, October 22. The group will appear in the College’s Mainstage Theatre at 8 p.m.

“Owens’ Center for Fine and Performing Arts is proud to present the community with an energetic and jaw dropping evening of rock and blues with The Clayton Miller Band,” said Barbara Barkan, Owens operations manager for the Center for Fine and Performing Arts. “Their improvisational style and undeniable musical talents have earned them a loyal following across the Midwest. Audience members will be hard pressed to forget their evening with the Miller family.”

Individuals say that The Clayton Miller Band was “born” about 10 years ago, the same time as its youngest member. Composed of brothers Clayton, Cole and L.D., and father Larry, the group was formed in 1999. They quickly became the number one band touring on the national college circuit and playing before more than 300 student crowds, as well as headlining several music festivals. Their success has led to the release of two albums, “Gotta Have Love” and “Live at Duncan Hall.”

Notable appearances by The Clayton Miller Band include the “Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon” and opening for such artists as Alicia Keys, Kanye West and Ziggy Marley. In addition, L.D.’s prodigious harmonica skills earned national attention on NBC’s “America’s Most Talented Kid” and are featured in a documentary about the harmonica called “Blow Hards,” which also stars Stevie Wonder and John Popper. The band is currently headlining a show in Las Vegas at the Sahara Hotel, which is currently the talk of the town.

Known for their high-energy shows, The Clayton Miller Band likes to stretch out in concert with bluesy, improvisational solos and a catalogue of original songs and classic covers to make every show a unique experience.

Additional events forthcoming at Owens’ Center for Fine and Performing Arts include a Family Fun Sunday series with performances designed to provide fun and entertainment to individuals of all ages. Among the musical performances are The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fair(l)y (Stoopid) Tales on January 22 and Pippi Longstocking on May 21.
