Vice President, Enrollment Management and Student Services
Dr. Betsy Johnson is the vice president of enrollment management and student services focusing on recruitment and retention. In her new position, Johnson will be responsible for overseeing all enrollment management and student services functions, including but not limited to admissions, advising, athletics, disability services, financial aid, international programs, oserve, records, student activities, student discipline, testing services and veterans services.
Prior to her current appointment, Johnson spent the last 13 years in various student-centered roles at Owens where, among other accomplishments, she was instrumental in implementing Oserve, a one-stop customer service model for students to manage records, registration and financial aid. Prior to coming to Owens, Johnson worked in financial aid at Central Ohio Technical College and Ohio State University – Newark and was an academic advisor at Rhodes State College. Additionally, she has held various leadership roles for the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, including President in 2008-2009. Johnson also serves the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators as a peer reviewer for the Standards of Excellence Program.
Johnson earned her Ph.D. in higher education administration from University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. She also holds a master of education from Ohio University and a bachelor of science in psychology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania.
