CDA to Associate Program

Child Development Associate (CDA)

Teacher Education

Starting your journey as an Early Childhood Educator!

What is the CDA?
The Childhood Development Associate Credential allows current and future educators to be seen as credible and effective educators who will help kids learn and grow. The YWCA offers a Gold-Standard CDA program. Click the links to find out more!

In a unique partnership in the State of Ohio, the YWCA of Northwest Ohio has paired its Gold Standard CDA program with the NAEYC-accredited Early Childhood Education Technology Program at Owens Community College. Students taking the CDA program through this student-focused partnership will receive Owens’ tuition-free ASPIRE academic support services.

Students who take part in Owens CDA to Associate program will study for their CDA on the Owens campus and gain important experience in the field of education. During their time working through the CDA classes, students will participate in a tuition-free college prep course called ASPIRE. This course will strengthen their ability in Math and English in preparation for college placement.

Continue your studies in Early Childhood Education

Upon completion of the CDA certification, students will be eligible to receive 6 credit hours of college credit toward their Early Childhood Education Associate of Applied Science degree upon enrollment into the program. Owens representatives will assist each student in the Early Childhood Education program enrollment throughout their CDA program, including application, financial aid/scholarships and campus resources.
