ATI TEAS Testing

What is the ATI TEAS test?

The Assessment Technology Institute®, ATI, is the company who publishes the ATI TEAS test. The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a scholastic aptitude assessment that is used as one component of the selection process for admitting students into health professions and nursing selective admissions.

The ATI TEAS consists of four content areas: Reading, Math, Science, and English. All subtests contain multiple choice items with one correct answer. The applicant is directed to answer each item as accurately as possible within the allotted time. The reporting system for the ATI TEAS includes a composite score for each of the four general areas. You can learn more about the ATI TEAS at atiteasprep.com.

  • Reading: paragraph comprehension, passage comprehension, and inferences/conclusions
  • Math: whole numbers, metric conversion, fractions and decimals, algebraic equations, percentages, and ratio/proportions and graphs
  • Science: basic aspects of earth, physical, and biological sciences
  • English: measures knowledge of punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, contextual words, and spelling

Transferring your ATI TEAS scores from another institution to Owens Community College

If you’ve taken the ATI TEAS test at another institution and would like your scores sent to Owens Community College, you must request a transcript of your test results at the ATI website. There will be a transcript fee. You can purchase this using your ATI account. Please select “Owens CC Toledo” or “Owens CC Findlay” as the institution the transcripts are to be sent to.

ATI TEAS Transcripts are typically sent within 2 hours. ATI offers reporting of ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) test results to schools as a convenience to nursing school applicants. However, it is solely your responsibility to ensure that each of your school applications, as well as your ATI TEAS test results, is complete, properly submitted, and on file with each such school. Please note that if you are taking the ATI TEAS exam at a school testing facility, your test results will automatically be forwarded to that school, in addition to any other school(s) that you have requested herein to receive your test results.

The day of testing

Be sure that you bring your valid photo ID, and your credit or debit card. Testing Services will provide scratch paper. Do not bring a calculator — it cannot be used on the test. You must create your ATI username and password prior to your appointment.
