Vice President, Human Resources and Administration
Jack Witt, Vice President, Human Resources and Administration, is responsible for the leadership of all human resource and labor relations functions. These include the review and implementation of policies and procedures concerning recruitment, selection, and placement, training and organizational development, and other talent initiatives. He also oversees the design and administration of job analysis/classification, compensation, and human resource information activities, as well as leave management, health and welfare and related benefit programs. Finally, Mr. Witt is responsible for the planning and conducting of collective bargaining negotiations, the handling of grievance and labor contract administration matters, and coordinating general employee relations issues.
Mr. Witt previously held positions as Vice President for Human Resources at Macomb Community College (Michigan) and Director of Human Resources for Genesee County, Michigan. Prior to entering the public sector in 2005, he spent 25 years working in labor relations, employment law, and human resources with several major corporations, including Ford Motor Company, Macy’s, Inc., Kmart Corporation, and A&P Company.
Mr. Witt holds a B.A. in political science from Tulane University, an M.P.A. from Kent State University, and J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Case Western Reserve University. He is admitted to the Ohio Bar, holds a certificate in benefits and compensation management from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources by the International Public Management Association for Human Resources.
In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Witt has taught for more than a dozen years and has been a member of the faculties of New York University Management Institute, Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, and Wayne State University School of Business Administration.
