Upward Bound

What is the Upward Bound Program?
The program provides assistance to high school students by providing cultural and educational opportunities that encourage both academic and personal growth. The Owens Community College TRiO/Upward Bound program is enhanced through collaborations with a variety of academic departments and student services. Upward Bound is made up of multiple components including an academic year program with college visits and career exploration, and a summer program, including academic refreshers, instruction and trips.

Program purpose
The Owens Community College TRiO/Upward Bound program is an academic pre-college program that helps prepare and motivate high school students considered low-income and/or potential first-generation college students for post-secondary education. It is a federally funded academic program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and Owens Community College.

Owens Community College TRiO/Upward Bound is committed to supporting participants in post-secondary education in order to increase enrollment and graduate from college.
