Ever thought of being a Marvel illustrator or design an anime comic? Come learn basic design principles in creating comics or comic minis. This course involves brainstorming and collaborative exercises in story boarding, character development and comic book tricks and secrets. Look What's Cooking at Owens

NEW! With a Little Magic You Can Cook and Eat Like Harry Potter

Attention Hogwarts Students! You won't want to miss this class or you may lose points for Gryffindor! With a little magic, kids and adults together will get to prepare some classic Hogwart recipes such as Mrs. Weasley's Rock cakes (Hagrids are too tough and sticky!), Pumpkin Pasties, and Rosmerta's Butterbeer and you will leave with a Golden Snitch! One adult must attend class with children under 10. Feel free to dress as your favorite Harry Potter character! Class is appropriate for ages 5 and up! NEW! Culinary Camp

The culinary camp will teach some basic cooking skills to anyone interested in the culinary arts as a career field and to teach students how to use these techniques at home to prepare healthier meals. The course will be broken down into 3 sessions. Each session will have a given topic and the topics will have a general supporting theme of different cooking techniques. Class is held at the Owens' Culinary Center in Perrysburg. All supplies fees are included.

Session 1

Knife skills. Students will learn and practice a variety of knife cuts and techniques. Emphasis will be given to proper holding of the knife and product.

Session 2

Meat Fabrication/Grilling. Students will spend time marinating flank steaks and then making the side dishes to go with the flank steak. Students will then grill and slice flank steaks.

Session 3

Chicken Fabrication/Roasting. Students will learn how to properly fabricate a whole chicken into 8 pieces. Students will then prepare their cut chicken in a variety of different recipes.
